The iPhasematch application offers a tool for calculating the phase-matching conditions relevant to nonlinear wavelength conversion processes such as second harmonic generation (SHG) and sum-frequency mixing (SFM), utilizing published Sellmeier equations. It also enables the analysis of downconversion (OPO) by performing the inverse calculations of SFM. This functionality is a subset of the 'Qmix' feature found in the well-known Windows software SNLO, developed by Dr. Arlee Smith, adapted here for iOS devices.

The app requires input parameters including the crystal type, two input wavelengths, and temperature. It then outputs details such as phase-matching orientations, effective nonlinear optical coefficients, walk-off angles, angular tolerance, and temperature tolerance. For SHG processes, spectral tolerance is also provided. In biaxial crystals, only phase-matching orientations within principal planes—either at theta=90 degrees or phi=0 or 90 degrees—are displayed.

Supported crystals include BBO, BiBO, CBO, CLBO, LB4, LBO, KBBF, KDP, KD*P, KN, KTP, Mg:LN, Mg:sLN, RBBF, RTP, and YAB. Notably, the dn/dT data for LB4 was derived from discrete reference data points and linearly extrapolated where necessary.

The user interface is designed to be intuitive; with simple taps on 'PM' to obtain phase-matching conditions, 'index' to view refractive indices, and 'Gp.Idx' for group index calculations based on the current parameters (crystal, wavelengths, temperature).
